Wise Intelligent/Timothy Taylor and Roger Sanchez

One of my favorite songs, another chance by roger sanchez, was transmuted into a rap! Have a listen:

Two Awesome Beatles Remixes

Two awesome Beatles remixes. First up is Bassnectar's Lucy in the Sky remix. Second up is a 4centers remix of Eleanor Rigby. I understand that 4centers now goes by Love and Light so I'd go there to hear more.

Sticky K

So Rod Kashani aka Sticky K Has been producing some awesome new music, and I figured it was about time I threw up some of what he's been working on. Of his newest stuff my personal favorite is probably Proxy-8000 which sounds like some of his older stuff, like sticky K. But Willowz mix is definitely sick.

I first found out about him when reading this Don Rimini interview over on Chemical Jump

I've included a live set he did in at Hard Fest, he drops my favorite track The Weirdo at 4:13, also a great listen.

Usher - In This Club (JFK of MSTRKRT Remix)

First of all big thanks to the guys over at El3ctronight for pointing this awesome track out. I don't know if ya'll remember but MSTRKRFT had this great remix on their myspace for a while, but eventually took it down. Additionally I remember my boy KDeluxe dropping it once or twice in sets, but anyway, enjoi!

O N R A

All Hail this french beatmaker who is on the way to becoming the next Dilla.

BUY HIS ALBUMS!

Dope instrumental, dope artist.

There is absolutely no way you cannot help but bob your head to this song.

The Hood Internet

Since Max just made a Girl Talk post, I thought I'd introduce you folks with another talented mashup artist, who isn't as a.d.d. ;)He uses a lot of my old fav artists, such as Grizzly Bear and the Junior Boys.

ALSO check out Easter Egg - his style is much more like Girl Talks if you like the rapid song-switching.

All Day - Visual Song Breakdown

So Girl Talk just released his new album. And its pretty fucking sweet. But way fucking sweeter is that this guy made a visual breakdown of the whole album:

It even made the Baltimore Sun

Horse

Horse outa New South Wales Australia really hit it big with the mash up selection. Perusing through his SoundCloud I found quite a number of pretty awesome mashups/mixes that were surprisingly clean and mixed a series of songs I really didn't think could be mixed successfully. My personal favorite is his smack my bitch up mash thats up first, but they're all great. Check out the 2nd Lupe one, and if you like the sound check out his soundcloud and start following.

Everything can be downloaded from the links:

Pogo Tribute

One of my favorite artists of all time makes most of his music from small micro-clips from famous movies. He goes by "Pogo", and pretty much has become famous through his Youtube Channel where he uses the name 'faggottron'. I talked to his manager a bunch this summer trying to get him to come to Hopkins to do something on copyright law, since Disney and others have given him so much trouble over his work. Anyway, cutting to the chase, here are my Pogo top 3:

Dirtttty Dutch Bangers

So I had this post made up, and hadn't posted it for some reason. I love dutch house, afrojack, that kinda fun stuff. Sometimes I just find Dirty Dutch music too entertaining. Thats all this post is about.

Staygold - Video Kick Snare (Dada Life Remix)

Gotta love sweedish house. Real entertaining Dada remix their label just decided to let go of.
Also a wack video off their site.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

My posts for the week are complete...

So the last artist I'll leave you all with on this lovely sunday is Def Sound - lyrical monster. I'm lovin the motion pastel video. Finally an original hip-hop artist again! Hay-sus.

Dunian

This artist is on the down low, withholding information about himself so his music speaks volumes. Check his myspace if you're into downtempo electronica instrumentals. I'm reallllly digging his vibe.

The Social Network Soundtrack

Thought ya'll would appreciate something a little different. Since stopping doing Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor has been working on a few new projects, one of which is the soundtrack for The Social Network. Check my favorite.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Surkin - Fan Out (Lightyear Rmix)

If you loved Surkin's song Fan Out from earlier this year, you should give this new mix a listen. The song still sounds like the original... just with a new spicy remix feel, and I love what they did at 1:02... great way to preserve the sound. Check it, and if you dig it, buy Surkin's new album on Beatport.

Designer Drugs - Through the Prism

Designer Drugs finally dropped a single from their last Datamix. Over at Chemical Jump said they didn't like the lyrics much, but personally I think it'd be too simple without em. This track oughta give you something great to look forward to with their new album.

The Chemical Brothers - Dissolve (Bloody Beetroots Remix)

So a little while back Chemical Brothers came out with a great remix I enjoy. You should too.

Daniel Haaksman - Purr Nana (BeatauCue remix)

Been meaning to put this mix up for a while now. Lately it just seems like BeatauCue has been on a roll. Takes a second to get there, but its got some stellar arabian-style beats. Check it.

Spotlight Sunday 4.0

Alright guys, this was supposed to go out weeks ago, but school just started for me, and I was moving... So this isn't gonna go out on a sunday now... but as usual I'm gonna throw up three artists you probably don't know that well, but should be keeping an ear out for in the near future.

So, if you dig heavy thumping hard hitting bass beats your gonna like this first one. Wobble Lovers come to us straight from the UK, and they bring the beat like WHOAH. First up, check out their collab with A Girl and A Gun , and if you dig it, head over to their SoundCloud

Wobble Lovers feat. A Girl And A Gun - Killa Pandas by Wobble Lovers

Paul Whitehead - Breakdown ( Puppy Giant Remix ) by Wobble Lovers

Next up here I thought I'd bring around CEPI , who did a great remix of Krafty Kids' Rock All Night , and always keeps the bitches dancing. Again, this one goes hard.

Nerf Gun by CEPI

CEPI - Anniversary by CEPI

And last up, but absolutely never least is RealBoy , from LA. I've thrown up their stuff, including their Glam set, and their song The Ritz, a song from Putting on the Ritz, which I absolutely loved. Anyway, they've just dropped a new song called Robo Mouse and I'm digging it:

Kona Triangle

I've heard a lot of glitch artists emerging the past two years trying to outshine the rest, but have just ended up sounding disappointingly similar. Nosaj thing and FlyLo are nothing compared to these guys. Only artist I think is on their level is Hudson Mohawke, but even they aren't completely comparable.

It is difficult to have soul and coalesce your personality into these types of songs, but I think Kona Triangle is something else. This is the collab of artist "Lone" and "Keaver & Brause". Their first album "Sing a New Sapling Into Existence" came out just last year. I really enjoy their nature themes they incorporate in lots of their songs; it's quite surreal.

I absolutely love the beat dropping around 1:30. Adds a whole new dynamic to the song. Definitely one of those songs you put on repeat.

New KDeluxe Track

Just finished a new dirty dutch house track, and wanted to share it with you guys first. I'm thinking about sending this one (along with another forthcoming tune i have) to a few record labels. More to come...

KDeluxe - Freaknik by kdeluxe

John Dahlback

John Dahlback has always been one of my favorite Swedish DJ's. Perhaps his music is so great since both parents of his are musicians as well. I've listed my top three songs of his - listen up.

Spencer and Hill

It speaks for itself.

Coyote Clean Up

Coyote Clean Up, otherwise known as Chris Sienkiewicz, makes uber-relaxing idm/ electronica/ trip-hop music. If you like these tunes, check out similar artists such as Toro Y Moi, MillionYoung, Golden Ages, and Mindsoup.

Spotlight Sunday 3.0

So here now in our third edition of Spotlight Sunday I've selected again three great artists who I hope will be pretty new to those following the blog:

First up is the trio from LA KRFTKDS , correctly pronounced Krafty Kids. They've got some AWESOME hard hitting originals over on their SoundCloud that are definitely worth checking out if you like their tracks below:

THE BLISTERS BOYZ - SCREAM ( KRFTKDS REMIX ) by krftkds

KRFTKDS FT. TRASHTHIS - ROCK ALL NIGHT by krftkds

Next up I've got a DJ whose tracks I threw up a couple months ago and really enjoyed. Rod Kashani goes by Sticky K and fittingly enough, his album's called The Weirdo. His music has an awesome and unique sound to it, so keep your ears out for his other tracks, and check out his SoundCloud

Sticky K: The Weirdo by Southern Fried Records

Major Lazer -Jump Up (Sticky K Remix) by Sticky K

Last I've got a great Dallas DJ you've probably heard before, Left/Right has been producing great music for about ten years now, and just about two weeks ago he dropped an awesome mix tape, his Night Mix.

Left/Right - Night Mix (part 2 of 2) by Left/Right

Dubsided recordings doing big things

Subskrpt, an artist who was just signed to the man Switch's Dubsided Recordings label put out a new record recently. On one side of the record is a track called We'll Be Fine. I can't stop listening to it.

Beataucue

Just got back from the Lollapalooza music festival today. It was bananas. I got to see rusko, kaskade, felix da house cat, erol alkin, tiga, and loads more people. Anyway, I wanted to post a track which I heard several djs drop this weekend. It's a remix of a Kylie Minogue tune called Get Outta My Way. It's biiiiiig!

Electric Soulside

Electric Soulside , of Belgium just sent me their awesome remix of Yeah Yeah Yeah's & A-track's Heads Will Roll. They're new album drops on August 25th and is sure to entertain, so check out their sound ahead of time. The track's free so grab your download:

" Yeah Yeah Yeahs & A-Trak ": Heads Will Roll (Electric Soulside ft Odissi Mix) - Free Track by electric soulside

Monday, August 9, 2010

oOoOO

oOoOO is a solo artist who occasionally teams up with the band "White Ring." This is a genre wholly new to me, but it is classified as "witch house", maybe due to the ominous undertones. This tune is hot to cruise around to. Check it.

Spotlight Sunday 2.0

So in our second installation of Spotlight Sunday I'll be throwing out three relatively newer artists with some awesome original tracks and mixtapes I've gotten over the past week.

First up is Ryley from Adelaide Australia, with a great mash up of We Should All Wear Polkadots and We Don't Speak Americano, as well as a pretty cool mixtape. Check out his myspace or better yet soundcloud to peruse his music, and check out his eclectic and variable sound.

Americano Polkadots (draft bootleg) by ryley

Next up is a philly local Ditchdigger , with a chill cool sounding track Hustle. If you like what you hear head on over to his soundcloud, check that shit out!

Hustle (hell yeah style) by Ditchdigger

And last but certainly not least here is STEPHEN with his new song electric wizard. Stephen and Blaine Lake were co-conspiritors in our last Spotlight Sunday with their great Congorock remix.

Wanted to quickly spotlight three artists who's tracks really deserve some cover:

First up Sick Nifty with their remix of Dan Black and Kid Cudi's Symphonies, which did fairly well on Indaba's Kid Cudi remix competition, losing out to some slower more melodic tracks that just wouldn't burn the dance floor.

Zinc Crackhouse Vol. 2

If you haven't read it on the other 100 blogs out there that have thrown it up yet, Zinc came out with a new release a few days ago, and the tracks I've heard thus far have been awesome. Gimme the camera, which I first heard on the afrojack essential mix is absolute fire, so enjoy those two. Last up I thought I'd throw up this Carte Blanche ( DJ Mehdi and Riton ) track, with an awesome accompanying video, found through El3ctronight , those guys are always putting up great music so check them out!

Afrojack + Steve Aoki

Who likes dutch house music? There's this unreleased Afrojack track out there that's been killing it on the dance floor. Well, supposedly it's Afrojack alongside boy billionaire, dim mak record label owner Steve Aoki. I don't know though, I didn't think mr. Aoki had it in him. Listen for yourself though -- this track bangs haaaaard. Also there's some studio footage. Siiiiick.

/\/\/\Y/

So, the new M.I.A. album is out, or at least leaked by now. Ever so cleverly entitled Maya (written in back and forward slashes ), this album is for the most part just noises. Bleeps here, chanting there, some reverb effects, some delay - that pretty much sums it up. The thing is that this album is produced by a host of allstars. We got Blaqstarr producing the majority of the album, Rusko on some tracks, Diplo, Switch... it's like how could the album go bad, right? I don't know, even Diplo was quoted saying, "the album is a turd." There are, however, some gems amongst this collection of "turds" which I have decided to post.

Sick Dubstep Jams

Jeremiah Jae

I’ve really been getting into Jeremiah Jae‘s Eating Donuts and Other Refined Foods over the last couple of weeks, and I still can’t believe he had the balls to flow over some of the decade’s greatest beats. His mixtape is free, and you’ve got to check it out.

Flying Lotus

A second cut from his self-proclaimed “space opera” Cosmogramma, MmmHmm features renowned bassist Thundercat (Sa-Ra Collective, Erykah Badu, Suicidal Tendencies), who contributes vocals and bass to the track and stars in the video. The video for mmmhmm is pretty damn tight as well. The second song is a tribute to my one of my fav rappers, Jay Dee. Bon Appetit.

Designer Drugs Datamix 10

Designer Drugs has come out with their most recent Datamix. Just like the others its fast paced and delicious. Check it out by clicking the image above, and check out the comments over at Chemical Jump for the track listing. Enjoy!

Hold On ft Amber Coffman

This song got a great video recently, documenting Rusko's chaotic life over a few days. According to the boys over at GDD it got banned from being aired on MTV due to some slogan tee's, no censorship here though, so check it out!

Rusko - Hold On (feat. Amber Coffman) from Mad Decent on Vimeo.

Hilltop Hoods

Hilltop Hoods are from Australia , and I only stumbled across them because of this first video, but now I've got a ton of their music, check it out!

Gold Dust (Official Video)

So some time back I put up the Flux Pavillion Remix of gold dust by DJ Fresh , which was a definite hit from the past year. But now DJ Fresh has officially dropped a video for gold dust, and its pretty freaking fresh. His awesome DnB album will be dropping august 1st... can't wait. Props to the boys over at Get HypedOnThis who took some time off but are now back at it. Bon Appetit!

Don Rimini Interview

As you may know I think Don Rimini is the shit.  There I said it, I really just love everything he puts out, it all has such intensity and fun to it.  The Don simply just makes great freaking music, awesome thumping base lines, and other great stuff. So before I got into posting any new music I wanted to direct you all to a great interview with the Don with Nate and the guys from Chemical Jump . Props to them, great interview!

However if you're lazy and/or just don't care about Don Rimini nearly as much as I do, I have something else for you. Below you'll find three tracks by DJs and producers Don Rimini mentioned that I particularly liked. Chow Down!

First up here Sticky K , a local boy from the states with a few sweet tunes you should check out.

Sticky K - Weirdo

Second up here we'e got producer Modek who has been developing a clean, unique style I've come to enjoy.

Last up a little Dro and Lodzy , hope you enjoy.

First post by me :)

I figured it was about time I made a post since Max has made them all so far (but I've definitely contributed with the songs). This first funky fresh tune is Mirrors by Dam-Funk. The preceding songs could be classified as "chillwave" (hate that term) and some hip-hop since we have none on here yet. Uzivati -- enjoy in Croatian!

^^ one of my favs
